Grand County, Utah was named for the Colorado River, which at the time of statehood was known as the Grand River. It is west from the Colorado state line. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,225. Its county seat and largest city is Moab.

Park Avenue Trail at Arches N.P.
- Arches National Parkis adjacent to the Colorado River, 4 miles north of Moab, Utah. It is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch, in addition to a variety of unique geological resources and formations. It contains the highest density of natural arches in the world.
- Dead Horse Point State Park featuring a dramatic overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. The park covers 5,362 acres of high desert at an altitude of 5,900 feet.
