De Soto Area Council is a local council of the Boy Scouts of America and serves youth in eleven counties in South-Eastern Arkansas. See also Scouting in Arkansas.

Districts Edit

Each District coordinates scout leader training. activities and other resources for community based scouting programs. This council is divided into 3 Districts:

  1. Three Rivers District - Bradley, Drew, Ashley, Desha and Chicot Counties (AR)
  2. Loblolly District - Dallas, Cleveland, Calhoun, Ouachita and Columbia Counties (AR)
  3. Conquistador District - Union County, Arkansas

Council Camps Edit

De Soto Area Council Camps feature many resources for organizing exciting outdoor adventure group activities and are available for rental by scout groups, families and other youth groups. Some camps feature an organized week long campership program during summer months.

Order of the Arrow Edit


Order of the Arrow is the National Honor Society of Scouting and recognized those who uphold the scouting ideals of camping, service and citizenship.

  • The Council is supported by the Abooikpaagun Lodge (#399). The Lodge's headquarters is located in El Dorado and was founded in 1948, the same year the Order of the Arrow became officially integrated into the national camping program of the Boy Scouts of America.
